Bio:
Ossi opened Brooklyn Yoga Project (BYP) in 2014.
When she founded BYP she set out to build a unique and beautiful space where everyone in the neighborhood could find safety and solace within the bright lights of New York City. She was introduced to the movement, intentional breath work, and life-changing philosophy of yoga over 20 years ago.
After surviving a 40 foot fall she was introduced to Pilates as a form of therapy that got her back to dance and performing. She then studied Physical Therapy at B.U.
In 1999, after studying and practicing Thai Massage in Chiang Mai, Thailand Ossi returned to NYC where she co owned a Pilates and Gyrotonic studio called Sage and Spirit. It was shortly after that she got deeper into the practice of Yoga, incorporating it into her teaching..
At that time she was in the process of healing from many physical and emotional injuries. Working through intense pain and struggle, yoga brought her healing, grounding, balance, strength, and acceptance.
Yoga is gift that everybody deserves to be introduced to. Not just as a form of movement but as a way of life.
She is the founder of the Brooklyn Yoga Project.
